George Barnett is one of today’s most in-demand male models.
He is the face of major fashion brands, staring in the ‘Burberry Prorsum’, ‘Hermes’, ‘Tommy Hilfiger’, ‘Lacoste’, ‘Canali’, ‘GAP’ and ‘Valentino’ campaigns. But this is a different kind of male model who is currently taking the fashion world by storm.
He began his career on the other side of the fashion industry having worked under Hedi Slimane who, initially, shot him and his band (These New Puritans).
He quickly became a successful runway model, walking exclusively for Prada for 3 consecutive seasons. This was followed by more runway and work with some of the best photographers in the world. George has worked with an amazing group of photographers from Alasdair McLellan, Jacob Sutton, and David Sims to Mario Testino and Tim Walker. He has shot campaigns for Aquascutum, COS, Burberry. He has walked for Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Valentino and YSL, to name but a few. Last year has seen George become the face of Burberry Prorsum alongside Jourdan Dunn & Naomi Campbell. Following that, George became the face of Valentino for the third time in a row, shooting with David Bailey, then Hermes, shooting with another legendary 60s photographer/-filmmaker, Harry Gruyaert. He has joined the Tommy Hilfiger family for the shoot with David Sims. Barnett’s said in the past that he would one day look to a career in design or film, and he sites his time spent working with some of fashion’s best as a further education.
